Closure Notice — Friday, January 30

The Brand Girls’ Bakery will be closed on Friday, January 30 in observance of the National Shutdown protesting ICE.

Accessibility and inclusion are not just design principles for us—they are values that extend to the systems and communities we participate in. Standing in solidarity with those impacted by exclusionary and harmful systems is a direct reflection of our mission to advocate for equity, dignity, and access for all.

We’ll reopen and return to baking accessible, people-centered design the following business day.

deep dive: whisking up web accessibility

workshop overview

This interactive workshop is designed for developers, designers, and accessibility advocates who want to move beyond compliance and truly integrate inclusive practices into their work. You’ll explore advanced concepts, semantic HTML, ARIA element and roles, keyboard navigation, cognitive accessibility, and real-time debugging strategies.
Through live demonstrations and hands-on exercises, you’ll gain the skills to identify, troubleshoot, and implement meaningful accessibility improvements—ensuring that your digital experiences are both inclusive and functional for all users.

facilitators

We’re passionate accessibility advocates, web developers, graphic designers, and UX strategists who are really passionate about everyone being able to have equal and fair access to the World Wide Web and beyond. If you are too, you can think of us as your accessibility sous bakers—helping you sift through jargon to keep you compliant and in the right advocacy space to make a difference in your designs, at your job, and in your community.
